new Saint... John Paul II, from May 11-22, 2014.
In Rome, visit the four major
basilicas... Saint Peter, Saint John in Lateran (the Cathedral
Church of Rome and mother church to Catholic churches around the globe),
Saint Paul Outside the Walls, and Saint Mary Major; the
Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, Trevi Fountain, the
Coliseum, Piazza Navona and more.
In Krakow,
see many historical and architecturally
interesting buildings and monuments including Wawel Castle and its
Gothic cathedral.
Explore the
Wieliczka salt mines,
a World Heritage site, that have been mined since the 13th century.
In
Zakopane,
ride the cable car to Gobalowka Mountain
and explore the unique shops of this "Gorale" mountaineer region.
Visit
Wadowice,
John Paul II’s birthplace.
Experience the
Auschwitz memorial. Tour Jasna Gora
monastery,
pray at the shrine of
Our Lady of Częstochowa
and see The Black Madonna icon.
In Warsaw,
stroll through Old Town,
see the Ghetto memorial, dedicated to the Jewish Uprising against the
Nazis, and drive along the legendary Royal Route. Enjoy three festive dinners with traditional
folklore entertainment.
Experience the
culture and history of the Eternal City and Vatican City where Saint John
Paul II serves as pope for 26 years. Travel the beauty of his native Polish countryside and the warmth of the Polish people.
And who could ever say no to pasta, pizza, wine, kielbasa, golabki, pierogi, potato pancakes and
kapusta. Mmm, mmm good. This pilgrimage is “Grade A” all the way.
Please join us and together we will laugh and pray, share the joy and
heritage of our faith, meet new friends and walk in the paths of our new saint...
John Paul II.
