09/11/2018 - Part-time Multimedia Reporter

The Archdiocese of Hartford’s Office of Radio and Television (ORTV, Inc.) seeks to fill a part-time Multimedia Reporter position with a candidate strongly committed to telling uplifting stories of faith and the power of goodness and caring.

The Office of Radio and Television, located in Prospect, CT, is an affiliate of the Archdiocese of Hartford.  ORTV produces a "Good News" television magazine program, Crossroads Magazine, aired on a Hartford broadcast channel and carried statewide on cable systems.  It also operates a non-commercial FM radio station, WJMJ at 88.9 MHz, and produces multimedia presentations for agencies of the Archdiocese as well as materials for distribution on social media.

Job duties include: coordinating with broadcast journalists, videographers and editors to ensure stories are competently executed at a high level of quality and are entertaining and informative. The ideal candidate must write well and should have news-style production experience.

A successful candidate will manage time efficiently, pay strict attention to detail, perform duties with accuracy, and be knowledgeable in technical requirements of audio production, videography and editing.  The ideal candidate will have a knowledge of and appreciation for the Roman Catholic faith and be comfortable working with clergy on religious matters.

Qualified candidates must possess a BA Degree in a related field and one to three years of professional experience.  Exceptional technical knowledge, good interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task are required.  Candidates must also be willing to submit to a background check and have the ability to work flexible hours with occasional evening and weekend assignments.
